Freshwater Institute's mortality monitoring device finalist for international tech challenge

A real-time fish mortality detection system developed by The Conservation Fund’s Freshwater Institute is one of the of five entries chosen from 47 proposals for this year's NewTechAqua Award Challenge.

Proximar transferred first batch of fish to nursery at Japan RAS facility

Proximar Seafood AS reported that it has transferred its first batch of fish to the nursery department of the company's recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) facility in Oyama, Janpan. Construction of Proximar's facility at the foot of Mt. Fuji is still going on.

Land dispute continues to hinder Nordic Aquafarms' Maine RAS project

Nordic Aquafarms continues to face legal hurdles over land crucial to its proposed recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) facility in Belfast, Maine. In 2021, it appeared that Nordic had a clear path to a stretch of intertidal land to run the intake and outfall pipes for the facility to and from Penobscot Bay after the Waldo County Superior Court ruled in favour of the Norwegian aquaculture company.
