FIFAX resumes sales, expects significant growth by spring 2025

Land-based rainbow trout producer, FIFAX Plc, has said that its sales have restarted and are expected to scale up significantly by spring 2025. The commercial deliveries of Fifax fish were interrupted for over two years due to an IHN infection.


Cooke Aquaculture acquires AquaBounty's PEI facility for planned expansion

Cooke Aquaculture Inc. has acquired the defunct operations of AquaBounty Canada Inc. on Prince Edward Island. Kelly Cove Salmon Ltd., the Atlantic Canadian salmon farming division of the company, is the one acquiring AquaBounty.


Pine Island Redfish records first harvest of red drum

Pine Island Redfish, the first recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) to farm red drum in the U.S., has recorded its first harvest.  “Since launching Pine Island Redfish late in 2023, we have concentrated on our biological prep work at our demonstration scale facility.
