Whilst RAS projects can be successful with the right choice of technology, it must still be remembered that 70 per cent of early RAS projects (1984 to 2008) have failed. Today, the failure rate looks more like 50 per cent, but it remains a difficult venture for any newcomer. One cannot expect it to be easy for an investor to navigate through the RAS “jungle.”
