Big changes coming to Heidelberg Materials’ managing board

A shake-up is coming to Heidelberg Materials in the new year, with the company announcing a number of changes to both the structure and personnel of their managing board, effective January 2024.


Metso to expand automation, mobile equipment offerings with new acquisition

Metso has signed an agreement to purchase UK-based Tedd Engineering, which specializes in automation, control systems and electrical solutions in mobile equipment for aggregates operations.


Changes to Ontario labour law in October include minimum wage increase

A long-awaited increase to Ontario’s minimum wage went into effect on Oct. 1. The increase will see more than 900,000 Ontario workers get a boost of $1.05 per hour, increasing their rate to $16.65 per hour from the previous $15.50.


Term extension approved for CEO of Infrastructure Ontario

Michael Lindsay will remain the president and CEO of Infrastructure Ontario (IO) for the next three years. In a statement released Oct. 3, IO board chair David Lindsay said the extension of the current appointment was approved by the board at their September meeting and will be effective when Michael Lindsay’s current appointment ends, Nov. 1.
