Two of Heidelberg Materials’ western Canada cement plants receive ENERGY STAR certification

Two of Heidelberg Materials North America’s cement plants, located in Edmonton and Delta, B.C., have received Natural Resource Canada’s (NRCan) ENERGY STAR industry certification. This industry certification recognizes facilities that perform in the top quartile of similar facilities regarding energy-efficient processes.


Proposed frac sand quarry in eastern B.C. receives initial approval

Vitreo Minerals has received initial approvals for the Angus Project, a proposed frac sand operation east of Bear Lake. The project would involve the development of a frac sand quarry, with materials sold into the oil and gas basin in Montney directly north of the operation.
