Three Canadian concrete admixture manufacturing plants complete Environmental Product Declaration

Euclid Chemical has completed Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for three of its Canadian admixture manufacturing plants. The plants are located in Calgary, St. Hubert, and Toronto. The Cleveland-based company is a leading manufacturer of specialty concrete and masonry construction products.


Construction will soon begin on new four-lane overpass in Burnaby

Construction of a new four-lane overpass crossing the rail lines at Holdom Avenue in Burnaby will begin in late 2024. Once complete, there will be an increase of rail capacity for Port of Vancouver terminals, supporting the movement of goods through the region, and improved traffic flow and safety for the Burnaby community.  


Ontario’s Dufferin Construction Company awarded contract to connect Hwy. 400 with Bradford Bypass

Dufferin Construction Company has been awarded the contract to build a new interchange at Ontario’s Highway 400 and Simcoe County Road 88 and a new southbound lane on Highway 400 that will connect to the future Bradford Bypass.


St. Marys Cement receives funding for new kiln technology

St. Marys Cement is receiving $2.2 million from the federal government to fund a new emissions reduction project. With the money, the Ontario-based company will install new speciality cement kiln infrastructure that uses lower-carbon fuels, including discarded plastics, to replace up to 30 per cent of the high-carbon fuels required for the manufacturing process.


Highway 17 Keating Cross Road Overpass Project reaches halfway mark

Over the next few weeks, steel bridge girders will be installed across Highway 17 near Keating Cross Road in Keating, British Columbia. Three overnight closures will allow crews to safely complete work on the girder placement. Highway 17 will be closed in both directions on the following dates: Thursday, July 25, from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Monday, July 29, from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Construction of the Highway 17 Keating Cross Road Overpass project is now at the halfway point. The project is on track for completion in the spring of 2025.
