Women of Asphalt makes it Canadian debut

An organization dedicated to gender diversity and inclusivity in the asphalt industry is rolling into Canada.  The Canadian branch of Women of Asphalt (WofA) launched in August and has ambitious plans to expand its presence across the country through network events and education sessions. 


Edmonton cement plant receives large sustainable investment

Heidelberg Materials North America's Edmonton, Alta., cement plant has made substantial progress toward more sustainable manufacturing and waste management. The Edmonton cement plant has made a major investment in cutting-edge equipment and infrastructure, enabling the replacement of up to 50 per cent of fossil fuels used in cement production with low carbon alternative fuels (ALCF).


Brevik CCS project in Norway reaches mechanical completion

The inaugural CO2 capture facility, Brevik Carbon Capture and Storage (CSS), has reached mechanical completion in Norway.  According to Heidelberg Materials, 1.2 million hours of technical precision work by an on-site team of 400 employees went into the carbon capture integration of the existing Brevik cement plant. 


Superior opens new crusher manufacturing facility

Superior Industries has opened a new crushing manufacturing facility in Morris, Minnesota.  The new facility, dedicated to producing jaw and cone crushers, will increase Minnesota's crusher production capacity by 50 per cent.
