With Canada facing rising unemployment, federal government lays out its plan to jumpstart the economy

The latest job report released by Statistics Canada Friday, June 6 shows the nation continues to struggle because of an ongoing trade war with the United States. The figures show the unemployment rate at 7 per cent for May, slightly higher than the rate of 6.9 per cent in April. The country added just 8,800 jobs in May and, according to Statistics Canada, job growth has been flat since January.


CAA's worst road list highlights need for governments to 'prioritize road safety with stable funding'

Stable funding, timely repairs and an increased use of recycled aggregates are cited as some of the ways to improve Ontario’s roads. CAA provided the recommendation on June 5 with the release of its annual list of the worst roads in Ontario.
