After more than 60 years helping build Canada, the name Lafarge Canada is transitioning into something new. However, while the name is gone, the company and those who work there will continue, albeit under the new name Amrize. “This isn’t goodbye, but a renewed promise to lead the future of building,” Lafarge Canada stated on its LinkedIn Page.


Ontario taking next step to widen Highway 401

Dufferin Construction Company, a division of CRH Canada Group Inc., has been contracted to work on the replacement of Park Road and Cubert Street in Oshawa to accommodate the future widening of Highway 401.


Nova Scotia expands quarry operations to support infrastructure

The province of Nova Scotia is expanding a quarry in Hants County and a sand pit in Annapolis County to support growth and infrastructure. Spence Aggregates Ltd.’s quarry project, near Newport Station, and the Shaw Group’s sand pit project, near Nictaux, received environmental assessment approval on July 2.
