Both private contractors and city crews alike are finding the clearing and removal of snow in Nanaimo, B.C. to be extremely challenging. Relentless snowfall on Vancouver Island of late has challenged operators to find appropriate places to place cleared snow.

Ash tree removal in Hamilton begins Feb. 13

The removal of about 66 dead or dying ash trees in Hamilton, Ont.'s Confederation Park will begin Feb. 13. The city believes the emerald ash borer has the potential to destroy Hamilton's entire ash population by 2020.


$1M project to restore Fort Mac's urban forest

Tree Canada, a national tree planting charity, will invest $1 million to restore the urban forests destroyed last year by wildfires in Fort McMurray, Alta. Funding for the project has been furnished by CN Rail.
