Thunder Bay to inject ash trees against ash borer

Thunder Bay, Ont. plans to inject upwards of 900 ash trees with a biopesticide to protect them against the emerald ash borer. Injections are slated to begin in July and continue through August.

A federally owned Alberta golf course could be facing a water shortage this summer. Low water levels in 2016 forced the Cold Lake Golf & Winter Club to use fire hydrants for irrigation purposes. The club has a new pump house this season, but is still concerned about having enough water for irrigation.


Removal of uninfected ash trees upsets residents

Residents of one of Barrie, Ont.'s older neighbourhoods aren't pleased with the city's plans to remove century-old ash trees that are not yet infected by the emerald ash borer. They argue the trees can be treated with a pesticide so that they can be saved.
