Delay to make school field safe upsets parents group

A two-year-old athletic field built at Wallaceburg (Ont.) District Secondary School has been used sparingly since its construction, much to the dissatisfaction of parents whose children play high school and community sports. The field was deemed unsafe last spring, with metal fragments and brick pieces coming up from the soil, but nothing has yet been done to remedy the problem, the parents argue.


Giant hogweed spreading through B.C., Ontario

The giant hogweed, a noxious plant that can cause third-degree burns or permanent blindness if contact is made, is spreading throughout British Columbia and Ontario. Eradicating the plant has proven difficult.
