First of its kind soccer pitch opens in Mississauga

A new boxed soccer pitch, said to be the first of its kind in Canada, officially opens Saturday in Mississauga, Ont. The Daniels Community Field measures 15 metres by 30 metres and includes an artificial turf surface, soccer boards, netting and goals.


Cancelled soccer game halts natural turf installation

A scheduled international soccer game between teams from Portugal and Scotland at Hamilton's Tim Hortons Field has been cancelled, just as Greenhorizons Sod Farms was ready to harvest and install natural grass inside the stadium for the event.

A tree retention policy is being developed in Kelowna, B.C. in the wake of deliberations over a property rezoning application that would have allowed for a 40-lot subdivision on vacant forested land.
