Vandals targeted five soccer fields in Vernon, B.C. during the weekend, causing extensive damage to one field and significant harm to another. The general manager of a neighbouring indoor soccer facility said barriers must be installed to prevent future access to the fields, suggesting the associated cost is still cheaper than repairing the fields themselves.

Landscape Nova Scotia has embarked on a new program called LNS Remembers in which donations of professional landscaping work is being done to spruce up cenotaph sites, Royal Canadian Legion branch locations and cemeteries for veterans. "They (LNS members) believe in giving back to the communities they serve, and a great way to do that is to help the veterans who have given so much to the rest of us," LNS executive director Sean Kirby said.
