Another Manitoba golf green hit by vandals

Less than two weeks after a green was destroyed at Winnipeg's Harbour View Golf Course by a "doughnut" driving individual, another Manitoba golf course has fallen victim to the same crime. Sometime during the night on Wednesday, an ATV ripped up the 13th green at the La Verendrye Golf Course in La Broquerie, causing thousands of dollars in damages.


Brockville landscaper seeks re-election to city council

The owner of a landscaping company in Brockville, Ont. is already the longest serving city councillor in the history of his municipality, but he hopes to be re-elected on Oct. 22 to continue to serve his constituents as the "common sense councillor."


Weed-filled traffic roundabouts upset councilors

The presence of weeds on roundabouts in two municipalities in the Cornwall, Ont. area has local councillors upset. The mayor of South Dundas said the roundabout in her area should be visually pleasing since it's regarded as a tourism gateway coming off Highway 401.


Artificial fields expected to generate new interest in high school sports

Three new artificial turf sports fields are under construction at high schools in the Niagara region, adding to five others in the district that have opened in just the past couple of years. School officials believe the fields will generate new interest in sports among high school athletes and will bring the communities together to support their local teams.
