The first artificial turf sports field in Newmarket, Ont. has officially opened, enabling several local sports groups to extend their seasons well into the fall and being able to start earlier in the spring. The field replaced an existing natural surface at Dr. J.M. Denison Secondary School on Bristol Road.

The Town of Oakville, Ont. isn't going to let go of the famed Glen Abbey Golf Club without a fight. Town council has unanimously agreed to take its battle to the Ontario Court of Appeal after the Ontario Superior Court of Justice ruled last month that course owner ClubLink has the right to bring forward an application to demolish the renowned facility.

A Prince Edward Island landscaping equipment dealership, which burned to the ground two years ago, recently celebrated the grand re-opening of its Summerside location. The new facility is deemed safer in construction than its predecessor. The 2016 fire resulted in the loss of tens of millions of dollars in equipment, parts and the building itself.

A Winnipeg-area woman, told her naturalized yard violated a local bylaw, can now keep it in its current state as long as she adheres to a number of conditions. The non-traditional yard is grown to a number of native prairie grasses. It has been in place for the past eight years.
