Plans to build a new high school football field in East Vancouver have resulted in some confusion among neighbouring residents. Much of the confusion stems around the term "stadium," giving impression the project will be much more significant than it actually is.

A massive cleanup of the Mount Brenton Golf Course in Chemainus. B.C. was undertaken by club employees and members on Wednesday, who tidied up broken tree limbs and other debris caused by a strong wind storm on Dec. 20. The back nine still remains closed for play.

Netting on soccer goals will be removed during the off-season in the City of Hamilton after a deer became hopelessly entangled in a net on Sunday and was euthanized afterward. A wildlife rescue organization has recommended all municipalities remove netting from soccer goals during times when it is not needed.

Winnipeg's ash trees will be injected this summer with an insecticide designed to kill the emerald ash borer larvae inside the tree trunks. The plan is to kill off enough larvae to allow the trees to survive until the intensity of Winnipeg's ash-borer infestation subsides, something that's expected over the course of several years.
