Four sports fields at the Vollmer Complex near Windsor, Ont. have been maliciously damaged by tire tracks. The ill timing of the damage is coinciding with the imminent start to the spring sports season.

A "sewing machine" the size of a motor home is stitching artificial turf fibres into the natural turf at Toronto's BMO Field. Once the work is complete – expected within the next five or six days – the hybrid turf system is expected to deliver a firmer, truer and more consistent playing surface for the Toronto FC soccer team.

A Vancouver Parks Board commissioner wants to have a closer look at whether or not the city's municipal golf courses present the best use for Vancouver's park land. Vancouver's three municipal courses have seen the number of rounds steadily decline since the late 1990s.
