Township of Ignace aims for another appeal in wrongful firing lawsuit

The Township of Ignace wants to take its appeal of a wrongful dismissal case to the highest court in the land. Ignace lost its first appeal of the $157,000-plus judgment against the township in a provincial court. It has now applied for leave to further appeal at the Supreme Court level.


'Time for a refresh': University of Alberta rebrands DEI policy to ACB

The president of the University of Alberta says the decision to rebrand its diversity, equity and inclusion policy was not influenced by critics of the initiative in North America. Bill Flanagan says the university in Edmonton officially renamed its policy this month to "access, community and belonging" after consultations with more than 1,000 students, faculty and staff.


Migrant worker group tells of complaints about Okanagan winery in foreign worker ban
