Using digital tools to help you choose the best hybrids and varieties

Throughout the year, you have the opportunity to evaluate performance and results on a wide range of maturities in different environmental and soil conditions. Local trial results can help you choose the best seeds for next harvest season. To see how DEKALB hybrids and varieties performed in your area, visit DEKALB.ca.

“Farmers are constantly evaluating product maturity, agronomics and disease tolerance to understand what works best for their fields, whether it’s an early or late start to the growing season,” says Adam Pfeffer, Row Crop Market Development Manager at Bayer. “It’s all about yield. Understanding the goals for your crops is important for maximizing yield potential and ensuring you have the right maturity or agronomic traits can help manage risks and maximize performance.” Pfeffer uses FieldView™ to track, scout and measure performance on new hybrids and varieties in local trials. “FieldView allows us to identify areas of concern – including standability, stock integrity or ponding – early so we can either visit those areas on foot or keep a close eye on the problem through the season by ‘dropping a pin’ for easy visibility,” says Pfeffer.
