Fusarium head blight (FHB) has a wide host rage that includes small grain crops, corn and various wild and tame grasses. It can overwinter in crop and grass residues on and in soil, as well as in seed, and can also be spread by the wind, making it a disease of concern for many producers.
Dr. Anita Brûlé-Babel, a professor at the University of Manitoba, will provide an overview of FHB across the Prairies, highlight advances in breeding for FHB resistance, and offer strategies for managing the disease.
