Ontario producers seek out insurance options for DON-damaged corn

As of Nov. 9, 1,300 producers have called Agricorp to report damage to grain corn due to DON. Customers and buyers are reporting that DON levels of five to eight parts per million are being purchased, but now buyers are holding off until harvest progresses and corn volumes are better understood.

Grain Farmers of Ontario issues open letter about DON in corn

The Grain Farmers of Ontario chair says there will be a meeting of industry leaders this week to address issues related to high DON corn, including cash flow and revenue loss, available markets for high DON corn, clarity from Agricorp on crop insurance, and testing protocols.
