Accelerated cropping systems involve planting twice but getting three crops in two years. The hope is that these systems will provide a greater overall yield, translating into higher revenue for growers. Researchers also hope to see spillover benefits such as reducing weed populations, improving beneficial organisms and boosting soil health.
