International Weed Science Contest returns after two-year hiatus

The Northeastern Collegiate Weed Science Contest, an annual event that pits the finest plant science students against one another in tough but friendly competition, is set to return on July 27 after a two-year hiatus.


Ag ministers agree to $500 million for sustainable ag over five years

Ministers agreed to improve business risk management programs, including raising the AgriStability compensation rate to 80 per cent, and in principle to the $250 million Resilient Agricultural Landscape Program.


U of G: Farmer mental health worsened during COVID

Stress, anxiety, depression, emotional exhaustion and cynicism (two components of burnout), suicide ideation and lowered resilience were all higher among farmers than the national average, researchers found.
