Although only a few years old, the McGill Pulse Breeding and Genetics Lab is already on its way to developing dry bean varieties suited to Quebec needs, as well as innovative ways to improve efficiencies in dry bean breeding. One current project involves using new tools to gain fresh insights into the bean genome and to enhance breeding resources, which could enable major breeding advances.
