Dry spring, and forecast calls for more of the same. What would a Farmer do?
1. Pump the brakes. No use in applying fungicide or another pass of nitrogen if it's going to be a dry year. Let's see what happens.
2. Pat yourself on the back for going easy on the fall fertilizer. If you pull the plug now you can get through until next year.
3. Farm it. Determine the sub soil moisture situation. If there's moisture there, top dress, and hit it with some fungicides. It's too early to give up.
