Speaker Spotlight: Jeff Schoenau

Last year at our Soil Summit, Jeff Schoenau presented all about the benefits of manure. This year, Schoenau will present on the larger goal of using fertilization to improve crop quality. Schoenau will dive deep into how the concentration of nutrients in grain crops are influenced by fertilizer at Top Crop Manager’s Plant Health Summit, to be held from Feb. 25 to 26, 2020, in Saskatoon.

Jeff Schoenau is a professor of soil fertility and professional agrologist who works in the department of soil science at the University of Saskatchewan. His research, teaching and extension activities deal with soil fertility and fertilizer management, conservation and nutrient dynamics. During the Summit, Schoenau’s presentation will discuss the effects of adding fertilizer on the human nutritional value of grain crops, as well as the latest research on the relationship between fertilizer and a crop’s nutritional value.
