Speaker Spotlight: Syama Chatterton

Aphanomyces root rot exploded onto the prairie pulse scene six years ago, but there’s still a lot about the disease that is unknown. Syama Chatterton will delve into the current research on Aphanomyces at Top Crop Manager’s Plant Health Summit, to be held from Feb. 25 to 26, 2020, in Saskatoon.

Syama Chatterton is a plant pathologist at Agriculture and Agri-food Canada’s Lethbridge Research and Development Centre, and currently leads numerous research projects on pea root rot, white mould of dry bean, and chocolate spot of faba bean. During the Summit, Chatterton’s presentation will cover what researchers know so far on Aphanomyces while touching on the disease’s accomplices in the field.

The Summit is approved for 9 Certified Crop Adviser CEUs and 9.5 Certified Crop Science Consultant CEUs. Earn credits in nutrient management, soil and water management, integrated pest management and crop management at the Plant Health Summit.
