Canada and Germany to work together on ag research

Canada and Germany will work closer together in four areas of agricultural research, including sustainable agriculture and climate change, particularly in the areas of protecting soil and water and breeding crops that are more resistant to the effects of climate change.

Blackleg was very prevalent in canola in the late ’80s and early ’90s. Resistant varieties were introduced in the early ’90s, which brought down the occurrence for many years.
