Tips for drying and storing damp grains

Wet weather during the 2018 harvest has forced many producers to take their crop off the field at high moisture levels. Artificial drying can help reduce the risk of spoilage due to excess moisture, but it is important to follow proper drying practices to prevent heat damage.


Clubroot symptoms spread in Saskatchewan

Confirmed symptoms of clubroot have travelled beyond fields in northwestern and north central Saskatchewan, appearing as far south as the Saskatoon area. The Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture is currently completing soil tests that will provide more information on the distribution of the disease.


Harvest Sample Program deadline extended

The Canadian Grain Commission has extended the deadlines of its Harvest Sample Program by a month in response to the delayed harvest experienced by producers in parts of Canada. The program will also start providing Falling Number and DON results for wheat this year.
