The deadline to submit samples to the Canadian Grain Commission’s Harvest Sample Program has been extended to Dec. 31, 2019 in response to challenging harvest conditions.


Using field data to offer customized bank loans

Farmers Edge, who provide a digital farm management platform, have partnered with credit unions in Manitoba so lenders can offer customized financing based off a grower’s field data. Customers of the platform still choose whether or not they share their benchmarking data.

Better P management for canola production

In Saskatchewan, most soils are deficient in available phosphate because removal rates are often higher than replacement rates. A three-year project was initiated in 2016 that looked at how to best apply high P rates for high yielding canola production.
