Although Heather Watson didn’t grow up on a farm, she says most of her youth she was drawn to agriculture, nature and farming. From living in a house near farmland to her after-school job at a local farm supply store, Watson always loved learning about the world of farming. After studying English literature in grad school, Watson then pivoted her focus to farm business management through a research project with University of Guelph’s Kemptville campus. After establishing herself in Eastern Ontario, Watson never looked back. Now, as executive director of Farm Management Canada, Watson focuses on promoting farmers’ leadership development and elevating the voices of traditionally underrepresented groups in farming. » Learn more...
