Manitoba’s latest crop report cites a lack a significant rainfall as a primary concern for the province’s crops. Sporadic showers across Manitoba over the last week made little contribution to crop moisture maintenance.


USask researchers look to recycle phosphorus from wastewater to grow better crops

Researchers at the University of Saskatchewan (USask), Idaho and Washington State are helping close the loop on the sustainability cycle with research into nutrient-enhanced biochar – a charcoal-like material made by heating recycled biomass in the absence of oxygen (a process called pyrolysis).


Canola demand remains high despite price drop

According to the early June issue of Grain Statistics Weekly from the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC), from the beginning of this crop year (August 1, 2022) up to June 4, there have been 7.32 million tonnes of canola exported and 8.66 million tonnes of canola crushed.
