Saskatchewan growers can now access free soil DNA testing for clubroot, through the Ministry of Agriculture's collaboration with SaskCanola. Soil testing bags will be available to pick up by late August and producers and agrologists have until November 1 to submit their samples for lab analysis.

One-third of jobs in the agriculture sector are at risk of automation within the next decade, according to The Conference Board of Canada. Automation is expected to take the place of repetitive tasks - and workers with higher levels of education and skills will be in greater demand.

Developed in 2004, the Morden dry bean breeding program's primary goal is to develop dry bean varieties for the growers and the industry in Manitoba. They're seeking to improve resistance to yield-limiting disease, improve seed quality such as seed hardness or susceptibility to marsh spot, and boost nitrogen fixation.
