ATAC Board of Directors Meets in Saskatoon

ATAC Directors met in Saskatoon for the 287th Meeting of the Board of Directors. The ATAC Board holds its September quarterly meeting in a different Canadian city every year. Meetings in past years have been held in Calgary, St. John’s, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, Halifax, Kelowna and Victoria.

Directors discussed key industry issues such as Flight and Duty Time Regulations, the absence of regulations surrounding the usage of marijuana in the workplace, the Pilot and AME shortages, Crew Resource Management, Carbon Taxes and the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme (CORSIA), air traffic delays due to insufficient NAV CANADA staffing, and many other important issues.

ATAC also held a networking event aboard the Prairie Lily Riverboat with over 50 guests, including local MP Rosemarie Falk, Senator David Tkachuk, and MLAs Lisa Lambert and Eric Olauson.

ATAC Executive Vice President Les Aalders and Vice President Darren Buss visited local ATAC Operator Members and potential members in the Saskatoon area to discuss operator specific issues and briefed them on major national issues.

The ATAC Board will decide at its November meeting where the September 2019 meeting will be held.
