On September 14, ATAC will comment on Bill C-49 before the House Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities. The bill addresses important issues such as foreign ownership, passenger rights, CATSA, and joint ventures.
C-49 stipulates the changes the Minister desires in these areas but gives few specifics. While stakeholders may support some of these changes in principle, their applicability can only be determined by the accompanying regulatory changes to ensue. We sincerely hope that that industry will be consulted extensively in the development of the regulations once this bill becomes law.
