Increased safety is branded as the leitmotif of this initiative. Our enviable safety record shows that Canadian air carriers are world leaders in terms of air safety. The end results of this ill-conceived regulatory change, however, will be significantly increased cost of air travel to all Canadians and a reduction in service to the northern and remote regions, communities who depend most on air travel.
