The recovery of the air transportation sector is dependent largely on controlling the spread of COVID-19. While ATAC criticizes the imposition of PCR testing on fully vaccinated air travellers, we endorse the decision to deny boarding to Foreign Nationals with a pre-departure COVID-19 molecular test from any one of nine targeted African countries. Flight crews are not exempt from these restrictions.
Canadian citizens, permanent residents and persons registered under the Indian Act can be boarded but will be subject to public health measures upon arrival which may include arrival testing and quarantine.
