Fatigue Management Regulations for Small Operators Need to be Delayed

ATAC urges Transport Minister Alghabra to postpone the December 12, 2022, implementation deadline for new Flight Crew Fatigue Management regulations for CAR 703 and 704 operators by at least 18 months to help that segment of the industry fully recover from the pandemic before being burdened by additional regulations.

The new regulations would require up to 30% more pilots to maintain current service levels. To impose new regulations at a time when industry is already dealing with severe pilot shortages would be detrimental and would inevitably result in service cuts. » Learn more
