About Us

A message from our sponsor

While Canada is cheering on our Olympic athletes in Italy, Canada’s elite bakers are busy preparing for their own moment to shine.

At Bakery Showcase Toronto (May 3–4), five teams from across Canada will go head-to-head in the Bakery Cup of Canada — a national competition celebrating excellence in breads, viennoiserie and artistic showpiece.

Watch elite bakers demonstrate advanced techniques, creativity and teamwork as they compete for the national title and the chance to take the next step toward international competition.

The teams:
  • Anthony Guy, Baker / Pastry Chef, Range Road (Rge Rd), and Dustin LaRue, Baker / Pastry Chef, Nero
  • Casimir Belleau, Chef / Baker, Boulangerie Farine, Alma, Que., and Olivier Billette, Chef / Baker
  • Florent Lehmann, Le Duo Choc, Candiac, Que. (Montreal), and Félix Jeandot, Le Duo Choc, Candiac, Que. (Montreal)
  • Ilynna Lam, Baker / Pastry Chef, XIX Nineteen, St. Albert, Alta., and Aidria Quilty, Baking and Pastry Student, NAIT, Edmonton, Alta.
  • Maxime Le Roy, Bakery Technical Advisor, Première Moisson, Vaudreuil-Dorion, Que., and Tristan Looker, Head Baker, Première Moisson, Vaudreuil-Dorion, Que.
The stakes:
The grand prize is a trophy, cash prize of $1,000, the opportunity to apply to compete in the World Cup in France in 2027 and the respect of the Canadian baking community!

Your emcee:
Your host and guide on the competition floor is Tracey Muzzolini, co-owner of Christies Mayfair Bakery in Saskatoon, and judge on Wall of Bakers, who brings years of experience to her role as a pioneering baker in the baguette and specialty breads category and member of Team Canada who earned second place at the Louis Lesaffre Cup in 2005.

Join us in the competition area to experience the action live and see who takes home the Bakery Cup of Canada.
