On Oct. 11, Blue Line, Fire Fighting in Canada and Avert will host the inaugural InterOp Canada virtual event, bringing together police, fire, EMS and emergency management experts to explore the advancement of national interoperability, and share case studies to uncover best practices for multi-agency response.

Canadian Interoperability Technology Interest Group (CITIG) original executive director Lance Valcour and founding leader Pascal Rodier will deliver the opening keynote to share a vision for national interoperability, how far we’ve come and where we go from here.

“Both of us have been passionate about improving public safety interoperability for years, flowing from the various challenges we faced as serving first responders. This event will be a wonderful opportunity for us to look back at that journey and take stock of where we are today,” Valcour shared. “Most importantly, we’re excited to highlight our vision for the future of public safety and emergency management interoperability and information management in Canada.”

Panels will follow to uncover what national interoperability could look like in practice, and to explore the multi-agency response to heat emergencies.
