Join us for WPAC’s Keynote Luncheon: Solving the Climate Crisis with Today's Technology on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, featuring Bob McDonald, CBC Radio’s host of the award-winning science program Quirks & Quarks.
Bob McDonald is one of Canada’s best-known science journalists, making science accessible to the public for more than 50 years. He has also authored six bestselling science books, his latest being The Future is Now: Solving the Climate Crisis with Today’s Technology.
As McDonald has written, the good news is that “the technology to produce energy without carbon emissions already exists.”
He points out that a green future will use solar, biofuel, wind, wave, tidal, geothermal, nuclear, fusion and hydrogen power. However, transitioning to a greener economy will require political will, economic investment and public acceptance.
McDonald’s career includes science correspondent for CBC Television’s The National, Gemini-winning host and writer of the children’s series Head’s Up, as well as host of The Great Canadian Invention, Wonderstruck, and the seven-part series, Water Under Fire.
Don’t miss this opportunity to be a part of the dialogue that transforms our future.
