Enviva announces first direct contract with industrial customer

The contract is with a European company that processes solid biomass into refined liquids suitable for high-grade renewable fuels such as sustainable aviation fuel and biodiesel.


CHAR Technologies moves forward with biomass to RNG project

CHAR Technologies has started surveying and geotechnical testing at the proposed site of its woody-biomass to renewable natural gas (RNG) high temperature pyrolysis (HTP) project, which will potentially produce 500,000 gigajoules per year (GJ/yr) of RNG, and 10,000 tonnes per year of CHAR’s proprietary CleanFyre biocoal (CleanFyre).


Enerkem achieves breakthrough converting forest biomass into SAF

“Our diligent and innovative approach in developing our forest biomass conversion technology has enabled us to produce a sustainable aviation fuel that will reduce the full life cycle carbon emissions of the aviation industry by over 90 per cent compared to conventional fuel,” says Michel Chornet, Enerkem’s executive vice-president, engineering, innovation and operations.


FortisBC to boost RNG supply in BC with three new projects

Approximately 800,000 gigajoules of RNG will be added to FortisBC’s gas system from three sources – food waste in B.C., agricultural waste in Ontario and wastewater operations in Iowa.


Aemetis signs $2B agreement to engineer carbon zero plant

Aemetis, Inc. has entered into an agreement with engineering and construction firm CTCI America to conduct permitting and engineering work for the Carbon Zero renewable jet/diesel plant to be built in Riverbank, Calif.
