BC announces funding for cleantech projects, including pulp mills’ biomass boiler upgrades

Among the pulp mills that will reduce their greenhouse gas emissions is Harmac Pacific in Nanaimo, B.C., which has received $12 million to upgrade its biomass boiler system and $617,000 to upgrade its pulp dryer and building heating and ventilation system to recover waste heat and reduce natural gas consumption.


CHAR Technologies announces new biocarbon and RNG project in Quebec

CHAR Technologies Ltd. will deploy, own and operate a high temperature pyrolysis system (HTP) located adjacent to a biomass power plant on land that has been reserved for CHAR by the City of Saint-Félicien, Que. The facility will produce approximately 5,000 tonnes per year of biocarbon and 250,000 GJ/year of RNG.


Archaea Energy announces new 20-year RNG agreement with FortisBC

Under the agreement, FortisBC expects to purchase up to eight million gigajoules (approximately 7.6 million MMBtu) of RNG generated by Archaea annually from its portfolio of RNG production facilities for a fixed fee for a period of 20 years.
