Canada’s shift to a clean economy is being hindered by a persistent skilled labour gap, despite significant investments in research and development. This shortage threatens to stall progress and undermine the country’s long-term economic prosperity and competitiveness. To succeed, Canada must not only innovate – but also rapidly deploy these innovations across every sector. That requires a highly skilled workforce. Without the right talent, even the most promising technologies risk falling short of their potential.
The solution is clear: we must unlock new skills from – and for – Canada’s biggest natural resource: our people. Here’s how Foresight Canada is addressing this challenge through the Advanced Manufacturing Engineers Upskilling Program (AME-UP).
