EVANOVO ®, the new vaccine in Canada against coccidiosis for in-ovo administration, represents an exciting advance in preventing this disease.
At the hatchery, HIPRA’s latest technology ensures each chick gets their dose of coccidiosis vaccine before hatching, avoiding extra handling and the risk of chilling that can accompany spray application. Additional vaccines, like GUMBOHATCH ®, HIPRA’s immune complex vaccine for bursal disease, can be given at the same time as EVANOVO ® further streamlining the vaccination process. With EVANOVO ®, hatcheries can deliver cocci-vaccinated chicks without additional management and chick-handling time. See the Video
On the farm, chicks start to cycle EVANOVO ® all together, resulting in more uniform exposure. The attenuated nature of the vaccine (made with precocious oocysts that cycle faster and with less gut disruption than those in non-attenuated vaccines) produces immunity with no need to treat broilers for cocci breaks due to vaccine over-cycling. Producers see improved feed conversion and less risk of necrotic enteritis, even with humid litter associated with all-vegetable broiler diets.
