Water heater tanks are traditionally made of copper or stainless steel, which can corrode, tend to have lower energy efficiency and can be heavy. In close collaboration with appliances manufacturer Haier, LYB delivered a solution from its Polybutene-1 portfolio, a proven material for continuous hot-water environments and with certifications of drinking water contact. By leveraging this LYB solution, Haier was able to offer consumers an overall lighter tank with higher longevity and greater energy efficiency.
