After 36 years in service to the community, Saskatoon Fire Department (SFD) Chief Morgan Hackl has decided to hang up his hat. Hackl will be leaving a legacy of collaboration, community involvement and partnerships, and creating a solid foundation for the future success of the SFD.
At the helm of the SFD, Hackl has gained a reputation as an out-of-box thinker and a true community leader. The department made strides towards creating an inclusive workplace by partnering with community organizations, strides were made down the path towards Reconciliation, and SFD positioned itself as a fundamental leader in the community, not just for their work in fire prevention, but as a driver of social change.
