This episode features Fire Chief Greg Jones of the Amherst Fire Department and president of the Fire Service Association of Nova Scotia. Chief Jones discusses the release of the association's governance study, which is a roadmap for modernizing and strengthening fire service delivery. Chief Greg Jones, ECFO
Chief Greg Jones has been a member of the fire service since 2000 and has progressed through the ranks of the Amherst Fire Department from volunteer fire fighter to the position of Director of Fire Services / Fire Chief, which he has held since 2014.
Chief Jones has attained the Executive Chief Fire Officer designation from the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs, the Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator designation from the National Association of Fire Investigator’s International and has obtained his Level 2 fire inspector certification from the Fire Inspectors Association of Nova Scotia.
Presently, Chief Jones serves as the President of the Fire Service Association of Nova Scotia; serves as the President for the Maritime Fire Chief’s Association; and serves as a Director on the Board of the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs.
