Urgences Santé and the Montreal Fire Department have responded to an allegation made earlier this week by a former worker at the Donald Berman Maimonides Geriatric Centre in Côte St-Luc. The worker, who Global News has agreed to not identify, said even after alerting his supervisors, little was done to enforce PPE protocol.

Today, every fire truck in service is equipped with two ground ladders: a roof ladder and an extension ladder. Usually the combo set is a 14-foot roof ladder and a 24-foot extension ladder, though this can vary depending upon the specific requirements of the department and truck. Every ladder, regardless of length, has reach limitations so firefighters must know how to work within them.

Splatters of paint were washed off statues of a firefighter and police officer outside Calgary City Hall on Friday afternoon after they were vandalized. Red paint could be seen splashed on the statues’ bodies, while yellow paint was smeared on the badges on each of the hats the firefighter and officer are wearing.
